I would like to create a new dir in j-t-c, for the naming contexts

I started few ant tasks and ant 'dynamic property' ( ${jndi:...} )
and ant jndi tasks ( jndiSet, jndiCopy, etc ). That would allow

I think you're missing the virtual server angle. There is NOT a 1-1 mapping
from ip address to DNS name. It's N-M. Even from the standpoint of a single
machine which received the request, there are many possible names for the IP
address.
So, given a request like:

Hi,
I am modifying the Tomcat 4.0.4 to make it a proxy cache server.
I am extending the container's (StandardHost) invoke(Request, Response) function to
be able to forward a request if there is no cache for it. I use the apache
commons-httpclient to implement the forwarding semantics.

Not the lucky one...
Something like:
logic:iterate id=sub name=scope property=associations
bean:write name=sub property=value/
/logic:iterate
It'll fist generate a duplicated declaration ( once at top level,
once at block level ) for _jspx_sub_1, and then look for a
variable named 'sub'
AFAIK jakarta-servletapi is considered a separate project - no idea why
and how.
I think it's the PMC who can decide about this - a project can't vote to
get commit access to a different project.
I have no idea how this was set up - but in any case you have my +1
on changing access, and if
