OK. My application in not important.

Other J2EE application servers usually throws SecurityException for directory
access from asynch Threads started into init() or service() method call.
Threre is no difference between servlet.init() and servlet.service(...)
permission.

I don't see difference in J2EE specification for servlet.service(...) and
servlet.init() permission.
@see http://java.sun.com/j2ee/j2ee-1_4-fr-spec.pdf
Page 87: J2EE.6.2 Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) Requirements

It's a trivial problem.
Thanks for your effort into developing Tomcat.

I've heard the subversion developers remind people that there are at least a few
different network protocols for accessing svn. In the http:// case,
it will be the
slowest. IIRC they say using the svn:// protocol is the fastest. It looks
as if the Apache svn installation does not support svn:// URLs. The page that
shows the URLs doesn't mention it:

http://jakarta.apache.org/site/cvsindex.html#Subversion

And when I try to connect to the svn port (tcp 3690) I get a connection refused.
So, maybe the infrastructure people could set up a svnserve server as well as
serving these repositories through Apache httpd?

http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch06s03.html

I use svn and I'm looking forward to having Tomcat hosted in it.

Remy: isn't svn blame what you're looking for?

I have looked a little at the command line tool now. It's actually more
like the regular svn log. It looks like the thing missing is good UI
support.

It indeed seems a bit sluggish overall, but it's very usable :)

Cool. For the next build, Mladen will add a new source bundle for the
APR JNI wrapper library, and there should also be some real
documentation. I think it should end up in the bin folder of the
distribution, like the jsvc.tar.gz archive (similarly, it will include a

Theer are a number of duplicates of this issue. It is worth reading through the
various comments associated with the reports.

See bug 21390 for a good explanation of this.

In your case, I think using the JSTL tag c:if might enable this to work the
way you want. I have tested this with a simple test tag but not with any struts
tags.

Summary: Make JkMount compatible with servlet-mapping/url-pattern
in web.xml
   Product: Tomcat 4
   Version: Unknown
  Platform: All
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P2
 Component: Connector:JK/AJP
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The problem is that X/* URL mask matches X under tomcat, but not in mod_jk.
Such a difference b/w matching algorithms makes it more difficult to configure
mod_jk based on the web.xml.
For example you have a servlet-url mapping: MyServlet1 - /MyServlet1/* in
web.xml of application app1. When you access app1 directly through tomcat,
following URL-s are mapped to the
MyServlet1: /app1/MyServlet1, /app1/MyServlet1/child, etc.
If you map servlet using JkMount in the form: JkMount /app1/MyServlet1/*
MyWorker and will try to access the same URL-s via mod_jk,
URL /app1/MyServlet1 will not be accessible, b/c mod_jk will not match this
URL to the specified JkMount mapping.

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-07-25 21:10 ---
The release notes were updated for 4.1.28 onwards to include the following:

---
Tomcat on Linux:
---
snip
GLIBC 2.2 / Linux 2.4 users should also define an environment variable:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

+ Additionally, Redhat 9.0 users should use the same setting, to avoid stability
+ problems.

This also matches with a number of reports on the tomcat-user mailing list. I am
going to resolve this as invalid since it is an OS issue.

After returning from my vacation I forgot to test Sorry Yoavs

The reason is that I have moved to a completely different project, aviation
related, and I have not had anything to do with Java, Tomcat or even web
servers!
