Hi,
Description of test case:
In servlet1, use
getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher().forward()
to forward to servlet2, and in servlet2, call
request.getRequestURL()
Test result:

Hi,
As I know, Jasper for Tomcat 4.0 supports JSP line
mapping (in JakartaCommentGenerator.java) which is
very useful in JSP debugging. JBuilder supports JSP
debugging through this way.
Does Tomcat 4.1.x support this feature? If it doesn't
support for now, do you have plan to support this
to hit, but that
doesn't mean that you
can't. The parse side (getting the
If-Modified-Since header) has been
fixed in the nightly for quite some time now.

Hi,
I found a bug (?) when i was testing tomcat3.3 using
MS web stress tool. I set up large amount of
concurrent requests for static files, each with header
If-Modified-Since which is newer than actual
last-modified-time of those requested files. I should
have got 304 response for ALL requests

the result is correct but there is error message on

meaningless, but this jsp is
When I was tracing into ObjectSerializer, I found that
the class loader parameter it got was NOT the one

Why? I can't explain this behavior...

Hi,
If two requests enter ReloadInterceptor.contextMap()
simultaneously and both reload context, it causes
duplicate context reloading.

As I tested, when context reloads in Tomcat 3.3.1,
e.g. caused by modification of servlet class, sessions
are lost. Is it true for all Tomcat 3.3.x? Is there
any switch in source code which can change this
behavior and maintain sessions through context
reloading?
Thanks for your help.

I changed switch fullReload in ReloadInterceptor

Hi,
Is Tomcat 4 able to recognize declared dependencies
expressed in the manifest entry of library JARs in a
WAR? According to SRV 9.7.1, if a web container is not
able to satisfy the dependencies declared in this
manner, is should reject the application.
If Tomcat 4 supports this function,
Hi,
We have integrated Tomcat 3.3 into our system and now
I have to upgrade it to support Servlet 2.3/JSP 1.2.
(For some reason we can't integrate Tomcat 4 for now.)
I plan to code facade23 myself to support Servlet 2.3
but I think Jasper is too much to me. Could any expert

Hi,
As i tested, the jsp/servlet performance of Tomcat 4.0
is only 50%-70% of Tomcat 3.3. Can any expert tell me
what causes it? Http processing, request mapping or
something else? I may integrate Tomcat 4.0 into our
system so I should be aware of its reason and possible
ways to improve it.
Hi,
Does current Tomcat 4 implement all requirements of
Servlet specification 2.3 and JSP specification 1.2?
Thanks.

Hi, everyone,
I need some help on Tomcat 4 architecture. Does Tomcat
4 manage jsp/servlet threads? For example, can it
report condition of those threads, stop dead thread
and release resource, etc? And, does it use thread

Thanks. I have to know this before I have time to read

yes. i tried. that is the problem. too many server
session objects are created before any session

work well with tomcat so we don't use it in testing.
i just wonder why this problem only causes port

As I tested, Tomcat 3.3 runs much faster than 3.2.3
(for both JSP and Servlet requests). What changes are
the main factors of this performance improvement? Thanks.
