http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23371 running tomcat standalone as non-root on port 443 Summary: running tomcat standalone as non-root on port 443 Product: Tomcat 4 Version: 4.1.27 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: Connector:Coyote HTTP/1.1 AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I have to run Tomcat standalone as user e.g tomcat (non-root) on port 443. But the server doesn't start (not able to bind port 443). With 8443 everything works fine. Why can't tomcat do that like apache ? Thanks for hints or help. I'm running Version 4.1.27 on SuSE 8.2 with SUN Java 2 Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_02-b06) regards, Damian --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
