You can open an enhancement request in bugzilla and attach them. If you are willing to maintain the code and stick around for a while - you may want to send more patches, and you can become a committer. -- how do I interact with Decision Makers should the code manifest any deficiency? That's the biggest issue - you'll be the decision maker for this code :-) If it becomes clear that you are willing to fix the bugs and maintain the code, and want to get more involved in the tomcat community - you'll be proposed as committer ( and become an official decision maker :-).
