I had the same question. In all of the years I've worked with Java I've
always thought it was free of memory leaks. If you use a different
compiler does the problem go away. Is that how people like JRun
(Macromedia) and WebSphere (IBM) avoid the problem?

OK, I downloaded the zip file; how do I install it. It contains
StandardContext.class but i don't see that class file anywhere on my server.

Matt,
Thanks, that did the trick , the entire Fall2003 class of CS328
(actually the kids were probably hoping that it wouldn't get fixed and I
would excuse them from the project) THANKS you .

It's a production system, and being a developer I can't get access to it. I
can't reproduce the error on a test system. Can anyone suggest what might be

Hi,
sorry for asking again a memory problem but I can't find the one and only
answer in the archive.
I'm using tomcat 4.0.2 with jdk1.4.0_01 on a redhat linix. In the tomcat
configuration I set the JAVA_OPTS -Xms***m -Xmx***m. In the server.xml I
left only the http connector with only 1 min- and
up tomcat requests
for additional processing? (Apparently it is possible with Microsoft
IIS and its Isapi interface.)
I've been searching for an answer to my question and haven't been able
to find it. I'm hoping someone might have the answer or a
recommendation for me.
Thanks,
Andrea Dick
Dear all,
I've installed tomcat4.0 and a simple website used for testing
authentication (JNDI Realm). I have the following problem. The
authentication (against LDAP) works fine. I'm redirected to the index.htm
page (simple main page). But when I press the back button and go back to the
login
Just a word to the sender:
Would you please to respect the people of this group and consider to change
your name?
Although most of the users in this group are not Chinese(Cantonese) and thus
propably do not understand the meaning of your name, it's still a matter of
mutual respect.
P.S. the
just type this under the dos command
line:
COMMAND.COM /E:4096
/P
4096 represent 4MB memory,you can change it
to
any applicable value.

Hi Mascha,
I used form-based login too. As far as I know, all pages served by tomcat
should reside in directories under tomcat_home/webapps.

Just type the following:
c:\ COMMAND.COM /E:4096 /P
This would increase the memory for environment and hence to get you tomcat
start running!
