I have found out the issue with this but am more puzzled than before.
If I re-comment out

saveOnRestart="false"

maxIdleSwap="-1"
maxIdleBackup="-1">
<Store
className="org.apache.catalina.session.FileStore"/>
</Manager>
from my server.xml it all works hunky dory.
Anyone know why adding this in will cause it to fail.
I could really do with having this in I think as I am having issues
with persistent objects
