Yes.. but the difference with mod_jk.so is that mod_jk-eapi.so can use SSL

I use Apache 1.3.. no matter that??

I'm unable to invoke Apache with the mod_jk plugin for Tomcat.
After several initally unsuccessful iterations, I was able to

I didn't know.
I've tried with both of them.
With the noeapi, apache don't start.
I'm using Mandrake, so I guess that they use an enhanced version of
apache.

Hi Vinay,
EAPI means "extended API". You'll need to use mod_jk.so-eapi if you are
using Apache with mod_ssl for SSL (https) support. If you are not using
mod_ssl, you can use the mod_jk.so-noeapi.

I've built a mod_jk DSO module (libexec/mod_jk.so) and configured apache 1.3.12 to
load it.
Os is FreeBSD 4.2, jakarta-tomcat is 3.1
Since I didn't find any mod_jk sources inside tomcat 3.1, I extracted and apxs'd it
from a tomcat 3.1.2 source subtree. apxs ran s

Hi,
why is there no mod_jk.so in the jakarta-3.2.2b5 directory, but mod_jk.dll
and for Netware, OS which are VERY freely distributable ;-)? I tried the
former mod_jk.so for 3.1.1 but it seems not to work (Internal server
error...). Where can I get a mod_jk.so?

Subject:Re: Trouble with mod_jk.so
I dunno, is Apache compiled for shared objects? Did you use
a configure
option to enable mod_so?
Something like:
./configure --prefix=/opt/apache_1.3.11
I compiled Apache with gcc on the before mentioned box. Apache does run
just fine without the tomcat module.
Should I recompile Apache with some other options or something?
Thanks!

others). How did you compile Apache? Does it run without the
mod_jk.so LoadModule inclusion?

Hello all,
I have built Apache 1.3.19 and tomcat 3.2.1, but I'm having trouble getting
my mod_jk.so to work. I just build it also, but when I try to run apache
with this module loaded I get:

I did notice more output though,

I am having a problem linking/compiling my mod_jk.so.
Here are my details. I've done what Jan and Scott Tatum (from a previous
threads) have advised.
I am really stuck on this and don't know what to do.

Hello,
I have compiled Tomcat from the source on RH 7.0 and now I am getting the
following error:
API module structure `jk_module' in file /usr/lib/apache/mod_jk.so is
garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?
So then I removed it and have sine recompiled it but I am still gettin
