i am trying to have a servlet forward to a jsp page after using the
jakarta.common.uploadc utility to upload a file into tomcat. i have noticed the
following behavior; if i request the forward operarion without performing the
upload function the forward is executed. if i allow

it it possible to maintain user tracking information and session properties
when changing from a simple http call to an https session ?
What i am trying to do is be able to maintain session object and variables

The way i prefer to do it is use a simple db with the
user atributes (userid , password , etc), use cookies
to check if the user is logged in or not.
one thing i had problems with when i first implemented
this solution is that the cookies are stored in a
browser specific place and you might not
to include some jars to run the application
i have copied the library jars to common/lib as well as shared/lib
do i need to do anything else ?
