I am using the LDAPRealm that comes with 4.1.12, and have had no
problems with it.
However, the LDAP server I am getting authentication from is flaky, and
needs to be restarted too frequently - sometimes 1-2 times per month,
sometimes 3-5 times per day. Consistency is the mark of greatness. ;-)
Anyway, I have talked to the people who maintain it, and they are
willing to set up a second server, to make sure that at least one of the
two is up. .
I am wondering if it is possible to use multiple realms, or to tell the
LDAPRealm to check with two servers, or if I should roll up my sleeves,
and extend LDAPRealm to do this.
Any thoughts?
