Did you restart Tomcat 4.0 after setting this application up? yes What URL did you try? localhost:8080/owntest/snoop - 404 localhost:8080/owntest/servlet/snoop - 404 localhost:8080/owntest/servlet/SnoopServlet - It works It behaves like didn't read owntest/Web-inf/web.xml. Craig

OK, the next step is to check the log files -- what do they say? By the way, Tomcat *is* case sensitive on the name of the WEB-INF directory, so unless you really have it in "owntest/WEB-INF/web.xml", your web.xml file will not have been read. OK. It was Web-inf not WEB-INF. Now it works.
