For me, the amp was apart I could have
used the spare amp but it's too heavy for
me to easily move back & forth anymore so
it sits, I should sell it, AL-1500...
New doorknobs, new plate choke in place
and heftier padding on 160 now on my go-to
amp and I'm good to go.
I'll be on 160 this
as usual, I will be qrv all season. my small, noise plagued, suburban station
on 1/2 acre lot is fairly easy to maintain. My HiZ preamps have never failed
from lightning events in 10 years of use, and if my Tx marconi falls down, it's
not too difficult to shoot new ropes over 2 trees.

Same thing here. . . .lightning season is upon us so the elements here on
the TX array are grounded and the Hi-Z 8 circle array is decommissioned
(amps at elements removed, elements grounded, phasing/switching electronics

All of my receiving antennas have been removed until October and the four
verticals in my 4-square vertical array have been disconnected. I can be
quickly QRV with the verticals when desired

A ham friend, participant on many, many big DXpeditions, and a terrific CW/RTTY
op, presented to our DX club a while back. During the presentation he asked
for a show of hands of those who actually have audio on when operating digital
modes. I raised my hand, since on RTTY I feel that
I plan to be on 160 all Spring so if you are DX please answer my CQ!
