Hi Low Band people,
Nice presentation Steve. I would like to point out that Beverage users or
even other phased antenna users should not use paralleling two 75 ohm coaxes
and then matching them back to 75 for the receiver. While on the surface that
all sounds good there is a little problem
Jim is economic on quoting callsigns, The VK4 is myself VK4TUX,
I have been testing FST4-300 will be back on FST4-60 tonight from ;

I believe this will be a great DX mode on 160m eventually.
I have made a few stateside QSOs with around 35 watts (amp is down right now).
Worked N6SS with very good signals and decoded DL7NN this evening at -21.
Question, I will call this the "Decode" window where the 2-Dark green arrows
are

Your weekly reminder about tomorrow night, for those of us that prefer to
work DX on CW . . .
Conditions seemed pretty poor over the weekend, but are starting to improve
again, so hope to see some of you on 160m tomorrow night !

Today I uploaded a video to my RX series which explains the Magic-T combiner.
I have received a few emails asking me “how do I make the magic-T”? so I
thought a video would be helpful.
I show the method for winding and building the Magic-T combiner and I explain
how it is used in phased RX

So far I’m impressed with the mode from here in AZ. Worked into IL at 0100,
pretty early for out west here. Getting spots on east coast well after their
sunrise.,
VK4TUX is on every day starting about 1300, he is running at 300seconds!
Many folks (me included) have called him but I
I've been on FST4 for all of 5 days now (as of 09Feb) and haven't
seen more than 12-15 individual calls print all Stateside
excepting VK4TUX. For anyone contemplating the mode the Quick-Start
Guide at
https://physics.princeton.edu//pulsar/k1jt/FST4_Quick_Start.pdf
has lots of good info much more
First test Feb 10, 0100z, Dial freq 1837.5. DF1500 FST4-60 for a fine tone
freq of 1839.
R7LV on the other end.
I know this is too early for W6/7 but I'd like to get a first try without
staying up too late.
Stay safe!
