I sent via OQRS after the dxpedition for direct cards. It took 3 days for
mine to show in LoTW.

Re: Topband: VK0EK confirmation

2016-04-18 Thread Tom Haavisto
Hi Andy

If it helps - I did not make an advance donation. Once I saw how well
their web site worked, I made OQRS request, and received an LOTW
confirmation shortly after. As I made additional QSO's, LOTW confirmations
followed quickly. If you did not get your LOTW confirmation within a day
(at the latest), I expect something went wrong.

I would also add - making an extra donation is not in everyone's budget,
and that is fine. For those that can afford it - great. For those that
cannot - it should not be a deal breaker.

If you did not receive your confirmation, I have two suggestions:
Made a second $5.00 donation, and try again. Since the first time did not
work, the second may also fail, assuming there is a problem with their
log. Keep this possibility in mind if you try this.

OR - send an email to the team, and ask them to look into the issue. I am
sure they have a bunch of emails to work through, so be patient. They are
a first-class operation, and I am sure once the issue is resolved, your
much anticipated confirmation will follow :-)

I don't know who the "referee" is for this august reflector.BUT, read

by doing the following:

- find every spot where I annotated K9YC's acerbic and uncalled for replies to
SP6EQZ's initial

- label K9YC as an "ugly American" and, PULEZ, put him, FINALLY, on notice

- send a personal e-mail to SP6EQZ and apologize for this exhibited boorish

How embarrassing!!! Sheesh

Aside note: I got pissed off enuff at K9YC for his acerbic replies to several

enjoyed reading several private e-mails from other subscribers regarding his

My two cents

Few weeks ago I requested VK0EK QSL card using Online QSL Request System
(OQRS), with a modest donation.

I checked LOTW and my confirmation was not there, I forgot to upload my log
update. buhhh !!

After I upload my log update I got the confirmation same day. Really nice
and fantastic fast!

The delay could be just a QSL process issue.

feel the same effect on your pocket. (14x20)And I had Heard confirmed but NOT
on 80 and 160 m.Now add the ARRL fees times 14, even with Lotw, and then  DXing

My contacts were on Lotw within hours after my contribution.GL Andy

Jim,

This outburst is unnecessary and goes against the spirit of Amateur radio
and the Topband.

A operator's participation should not depend on any donation from any
"sponsors".

This is also unprofessional. One should never embarrass a person when
discussing or debating an issue. I was taught this in my engineering
education it has been reinforced many times in my career.

I think you owe SP6AEG and SP6EQZ an apology.
