Back in the 90's - KH6ND was active from Kure Is on 160M during July. He was very workable in North America in the early morning hours before NA sunrise. I logged Mike with 100 w and my balloon supported vertical. QRN from thunderstorms may be lower at that time. Europe may well have some

Hi Guys. Did you operate CQ160 either mode in 2018? I am looking for a few good pictures, if you have any. Especially from those who have not appeared in the magazine before. Please respond directly to me: andyn...@gmail.com 73, Andy N2NT _ Topband Reflector Archives -

As in ARRL literature, even as short antenna in a great ground plane can be very effective. The Baker Island group has indicated that they were going to use the salt water.. 73 Bruce-k1fz On Wed, 13 Jun 2018 16:14:01 +, jon jones wrote: Back in the 90's - KH6ND

Glad the  are going at this time. A group of experienced ops and the great preparation will ensure beau coup qsos are made despite the current sun spot cycle nadir. I bet the 160 meter  cw signal will amaze. Good luck to the team for a safe and successful trip. 73 de Al, W5IZ Committed to

I respectfully suggest the Baker Is. dxpedition be postponed for a few years until band condx improve. It makes no sense to me to mount this costly undertaking to a limited access location when propagation is in the toilet. If USFWS is managing access, they've lately shown that they'll only

Hi Gang, In late June my sunrise is 02:44 UTC, sunset is 18:35 UTC. It will be impossible from Europe not only on 160, but also 80 and even 40. Mayb 20/17 for "the nice QSL"... But I am happy you are going to have fun. 73 Steve HA0DU 2018.06.13. 21:26 keltezéssel, GEORGE WALLNER írta:

I have Baker on some bands so this isn't a must have for me, although a 160 QSO would be nice.  If it was, however, at my age (pushing 77) waiting a few years might not be an option. I wish SV/A would be deleted, it is after all just Greece, and for some French ops to activate FR/G.  You have

Rob, You are right about the timing not being good, but it is way too late now to postpone the operation. Most of us are already in the Pacific or on a plane, the boat is being loaded, etc., etc. This is the time we could get and these are the limitations we must live with. The circumstances

George, Thanks for all you do. I will be calling with a "short" vertical only up 35'. It is fed 6" from salt water. I worked the E6 C82 7O6 VK0/H and others using it. It's all I have. The excitement and anticipation will not be diminished by the challenge I face using a stealth wire

I have used the Cushcraft MA-160V extensively over the years and it works amazing well. It only stands at 36 feet tall for the CW DX window. It is top loaded. It is very light. I don't understand why more DXpeditions don't use them. I would not trust the all the parts being included,
