Can't comment on BOGs, but installed a JK BevFlex-4 COAX Beverage - 500 ft long
- a few yrs ago. It runs E-W and have found the performance to be
UNDERWHELMING! I use my K9AY Loop more often with my K3 in Diversity mode than
the JKBev when working DX!? Any comments welcome.

I also put out radials on my K9AY loop and also did what ON4UN suggested re
common mode - per his book - another grd rod about 8 ft (or so) from the loop
base with coax shield grounded to it. I also used a coax piece w/ ferrite beads
(from DX Eng) to connect from the ant to the grd rod and
issing the point. Knowing Wes I am sure that post

I use a Model 197 RF Limiter/Arrestor by Industrial Comms Engineers for my K9AY
Loop. I think I got it from DX Eng ~ 10 yrs ago, but also chk w/ Array
Solutions since I think they now handle the K9AY Loop. - Alan K9MBQ

I use a telescoping 25 ft push up mast for mine - has enough excess height and
have used for many yrs. DX Eng has a range of masts that should work. - Alan

Also try an Inverted L and elevated radials (4-6 100 ft) for 160 & 80M. See the
QST 2012 article by Scott, K4VWK. I am using this antenna now and for the past
two yrs w/ great success. Good luck - Alan K9MBQ

. . . which is I and many others have Big Switches and other means to
disconnect feed lines and ground them to prevent equipment damage and hopefully
to antennas.

I checked out the JK Antenna web site and the system looks good and sounds like
it performs well. Have there been any side-by-side comparisons w/ a standard 2
wire 450 ohm Beverage?

As an example with excellent performance, I use and recommend a COAX Inverted-L
with elevated 100 ft radials (I use 7, but 4 will work). Since the 65 ft
vertical Coax shield is not connected at the top where center conductor
connects to the horizontal wirw (or sloped in my case), no matching
LoTW confirmation has not happened for me who sent donation on Sun, 4/10 . . .
but am sure it will once they get home. Excellent DXpedition despite marginal
propagation. - alan K9MBQ

Worked JD1BMH @1222Z in central VA w/ a K9AY loop recv ant and Coax Inv L for
xmit/recv. 559 both ways. Hope that helps. - Alan K9MBQ
