 I'm using the latest version of TOR to log on to my Wordpress blog.
 However, Wordpress recently recognizes my PC, rendering TOR completely
 transparent.
 Previously, when I visited the blog without logging on, it was counted as
 a unique visit each time.
 But that is no longer the case.
 How do I hide my ID from Wordpress again?

 I just checked on my PC, and I can comment on Disqus. So the problem is
 only on my Mac (2010 Macbook Pro, OS X 11.6).

 Item 1 is 'Delete everything' but I can tell Tor stores things in lots of
 places, and I have no idea where to find everything. List please.

 I'll try deleting the version I've got and re-installing the latest
 versions 8 and 9 and see if any of them allow comments in Disqus in OSX
 11.6.

 Our residential IP address is fixed. Need to find some way to mix things
 up so we can become a real pain in the ass to authorities.

 Eventually Snowflake show be pretty safe for hosters - since all that
 traffic dumps immediately into the Tor network without touching the donors
 hardware.

 I know marketing types use services offering multiple residential IP
 addresses: https://rotatingproxies.com/?afmc=1g

 So can anything be done to supercharge Snowflake?

 Neel has submitted the latest version of his proposal to the tor-dev
 mailing list. Here is my next review:

 I have some overall comments on the proposal:
 1. The proposal is very large now. Let's add an intro section that splits
 the changes into:
   * initial feasability testing
   * minimum viable product
   * parameter tuning
   * optional features, and how we will know if we need them
 2. Bridges can't be configured with an IPv4 and an IPv6 address in tor,
 because tor only accepts one IP address per bridge. Let's be clear that
 bridges are out of scope. (Tor already attempts to connect to all? its
 configured bridges.)
 3. Each revision of this proposal has added text. Is there any text that
 is redundant or not useful. Can we make it shorter?

 Saving the pad here:


 Steps for starting a new maint branch

 1. Ideally, do this immediately after a release.

 2. Start a new maint-x.y.z branch based on master, and a new release-x.y.z
 branch based on master.  They should have the same starting point.

 3. Push both of these branches to the master git repository.

 4. In master, change the version to "0.x.y.0-alpha-dev".  Run the
 update_versions.py script, and commit this version bump.

 5. Tag the version bump with "tor-0.x.y.0-alpha-dev".  Push the tag and
 master.

 6. Open tickets for connecting the new branches to various other places.
 Some of the children are
 https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/30835 are an examples of
 these tickets.

 7. Remove practracker from the check-local Makefile target in maint-x.y.z
 branch only. Merge to release-0.xy.z but do not forward-port to master.


 Finally, make sure this document is up to date with our latest process.

New description:

 Installing an obfs4 bridge on Debian currently requires installing tor,
 obfs4proxy, and then figuring out how to configure it. We could create a
 meta package, say tor-bridge, that simplifies this process. This package
 would:

 * Ship with a script that automatically determines a free and random OR
 and obfs4 port.
 * Help us retire a transport by replacing, say, obfs4 with obfs5.
 * Ship with a tool that helps operators get their bridge line.
 * Write its torrc to a different file than the tor package, to be
 compliant with Debian policy.
 * After installation, ask the operator about their nickname, contact info,
 and if they want a vanilla or obfs4 bridge.
 * Maybe ship with [https://nyx.torproject.org nyx] so operators have a
 sense of how their bridge is doing.

 I hear that infinity0 already thought about this problem a lot in the
 context of tor-bridge-helper.

 I just ran into this again, with a fresh TBB 8.5.4 install (and some
 custom settings). I would really love to disable all cookies globally and
 only only enable them on a few specifically whitelisted domains.

 It might because, at present, recoverability for clients is suspect (ie.
 in development).

 And, from some initial testing, there's just enough time for a client to
 connect to the proxy while Firefox is a background app before resources
 are suspended and they have a bad experience (this statement may or may
 not be true).

 An idea is to create a specialized app with the proxy-go code with the
 appropriate permissions to run in background or whatnot and put that in
 the app stores.

 Back in 2018, when Tor upgraded from 7 to 8, the Disqus comment management
 system stopped working with Tor. I could log in, but the log-in tab could
 not communicate with the comment tab, so the comment tab did not know I
 was logged in.

 After some time, I enabled all 3rd party cookies, and was able to comment
 again.

 My version of Tor for Mac had been upgraded many times, and stopped
 connecting due to some cruft it had picked up, so I installed the alpha
 version. I could connect easily, but I could no longer comment. I changed
 to allow all cookies, but the log-in tab still could not communicate with
 the comment tab.

 I tried telling Noscript to enable everything on the tab, but no luck.

 I switched off Private Mode, but no luck.

 I tried to go back to the non-alpha version and downloaded a new copy to
 the Applications folder, but it could not connect. So I downloaded the
 non-alpha version to a private folder, and it can connect easily but
 cannot comment on Disqus.

 Again, the log-in tab cannot communicate with the comment tab. When I
 click log-in a second or third time, I never see the log-in tab (since it
 knows I'm logged in) so it returns me to the comment tab, where I still
 cannot comment.

 I went to Library and deleted everything that said it was from Tor, but
 still cannot comment.

 Now I cannot comment on Disqus (used by many websites, such as Arcamax and
 Comics Kingdom). And none of the things that got Disqus working in 2018
 work now.

 If we're doing a push for snowflakes, we should provide pre-compiled
 binaries for the proxy-go instances. The reason for this is that the go
 toolchain is non-trivial to set up and there may be people happy to run
 these instances if there is a lower barrier to set up

 user registration works and asks a captcha.

 it also asks for a captcha on login, which i wasn't able to solve, but i
 was actually logged in so i can just bypass it and then was able to open
