[tor-relays] Most useful bridge distribution

2022-10-11 Thread Thoughts
Hi all - Running a bridge, and per some stats I saw earlier Moat seems to be the most popular distribution method. Just curious is something else is recommended?  Some seem less secure than others, but I don't know the methods used to prevent abuse. Would appreciate guidance. Cheers,

Perhaps a related data point:  per nyx I'm currently seeing about 20K incoming connections  but only 3.3K outbound.  Shouldn't those be about the same given I'm running a non-exit middle node? On 7/27/2022 3:12 PM, Thoughts wrote: Hi all - I've been running a TOR non-exit relay for several

For a non-exit relay, is "NumCPUs 2" still the recommended maximum?   Running on a quad core and recently saw a message indicating I had insufficient CPU power to support the desired number of connections... Thanks, Kevin ___ tor-relays mailing

Two suggestions: 1)  Run speedtest (https://www.speedtest.net) from behind your firewall and verify your actual bandwidth (or at least get a good approximation ). 2)  Check the brand of NIC in your current machine.  Intel NICs are reportedly much more efficient than RealTek for handling

[tor-relays] DirPort

Good day all - Coming up on day 3 of my tor relay, "SpinnerDolphin1".  Per the metrics page is showing "Dir Address none", but I have a DirPort defined (as nyx reports), and opened. Is this just something that won't be activated until later in my spin-up cycle? I have a 100/100 mbit
