As someone who kind of hates stackexchange, I'm admittedly biased.
But I don't think that referring people to the main tor SE page is
especially useful. If there is a response that satisfies their
question, why not just link that answer. Or just answer their question.

I would agree that people should not redirect questions to stackexchange
for two reasons:
1. Stackexchange's stated purpose is to be a repository for the best
answers to questions. When the answer to a question has been hashed out in
some other forum, there is nothing preventing people
I prefere the email list too, so stop pushing people in stack exchange.
