Hi
Can an external DAC be used with the Touch? In other words, is there a
digital out? And if there is, will the Touch pass through wireless to
the digital out? I really like the Touch concept, but the DAC in it
isn't as good as the one I had been using and I'd like the best of both
worlds...

There are only two ways to run local files with the Touch. One is using
an attached USB drive and running TinySC but this limits what one can
do. The other is by having a PC/NAS/Server running that has SBS on it.
I personally don't care for the NAS solution as it to can have
limitations. I think
I'd equate the Touch to buying a new moped finding the engine doesn't
work properly. Never mind, there's always the pedals... [image:

Just found out that networkless touch is not officially suported, so
annoyed. I spent ages trying to find the right drive and now i gotta
return the device. Apparently firmware version 7.6 stops you from
playing from local USB drive if touch is not networked.??
Hi all
I use the MusicInfo SCR plugin in order to show file extension,
bitrate, disk-track number, etc on my Booms, but this plugin does not
work for the Touch.
I wonder how to customize the information displayed on the Touch, if
possible.
thank you in advance

Thanks,
Yes I got that part working by reinstalling SB servor on my laptop.
Still can not access advanced settings to change plug in's etc.
Called Logitech they could not help me. they thought it is a third
party problem because of servor log saying
can not connect to port 1002

ALL hearing is in fact thinking of hearing something :-)
Ears are NOT microphones. They are connected to a brain (usually). It is
the brain that decides what we do or don't hear.

I haven't tried out the modded audiocom XDAC without the XPSU but am

Hi paulgruson
I just wanted to warn you that according to the developers running your
squeezebox without a network is not officially supported, imho that
kinda defeats the point of advertising a local USB port. In Beta
firmware 7.6 it actually stops you from playing

Well I kind of assumed that if you'd listened to one you'd KNOW it had

Give me a day or two and I'll post the instructions. There are some

yes, or for transporter, boom, other TOUCH, etc. Just put Choose

control. p.s. don't do like me. I did this, and forgot, and

All my flac files sit on a 2tb Buffalo Linkstation Pro and I'm thinking
that installing SBS on that may save the need to have the current PC
running SBS switched on when listening to music?

I did use the Buffalo Linkstation quite a while for Squeezebox Server.
But its very slow and it doesn't make much fun (also it's quite some
fiddling to get it working).
On the 3rd party hardware forum there are plenty of threads and
tutorials to install SBS on a Linkstation.
