Try connecting the problem Touch directly to MySqueezeBox.com, see if
the issue remains when playing online streams.

The SBT provides the standard 5V USB voltage so there is no problem
here. I think you have a misunderstanding of current, the LOAD (your DAC
in this case) determines the amount of current that flows over the
connection. The source cannot force more current into it than it
At a rental house the last couple weeks and the SB Touch was working
fine with my Laptop and LMS.
The last few days, LMS could not see my Touch, despite
rebooting/restarting LMS, reconnecting the Touch to the wireless
network. The only thing that seems to work is to connect an Ethernet
cable to

Any chance EDO will include alac compatibility at some point?
OK - I'm through page 38 of this thread. Seems LMS converts alac to
flac on the fly. So why the EDO disclaimer limiting it to flac? My
alac files don't play with EDO, but why? What server setting should I

You might try changing the LMS setting under 'Advanced', 'File Types'

OK- thanks. Under apple lossless I have set as follows:
apple lossless: disabled

I've got my Touch working with a Stello U3. This uses an XMOS USB chip.
My configuration of the Touch is different though as I use Squeezelite
as a player (and no Touch GUI). I have plans to upgrade my D-Premier to
a 240 this spring and hope that the Devialet USB input will work with my
Touch. I

Look right? So does that mean that before, when set to play alac

I use SD CARDS on my touch. I decided to upgrade it tonight (to 7.8) and
now I have no choice but to login to a network. I can't bypass that
screen, like I could on my previous firmware. Is there a way around
this?
Thanks!

After so much hassle over the years with the software, drop-outs (even
using ethernet), Spotify implementation being a nightmare I took the
plunge and sold my Touch and got a Sonos.
I actually got more on eBay for the Touch than I paid, and the Sonos
seems so much more

I'm no expert, but I think so. Is it working now?
I only have flacs, and always send just PCM, disabling the rest for
flacs. Some people say this reduces the load on the Touch, although
increasing the network load. However, flacs should do fine.
It works just using the
There's certainly a lot of arguments you can make for Squeezebox vs.
Sonos but Spotify integration really isn't one of them.
Spotify integration in Sonos is pretty much exactly the same as on the
Squeezebox, it even has the same issues (Track not available in your
country)

If my needs were simple like yours, I'd likely reach a similar
conclusion. Until someone else comes out with software that does as
many things as SB, however, I'm hanging on to mine.
2-SB3s, 1-Duet, 1-Touch...and an iPeng convert.

I would seem this firmware is only for those who are on a network (yes,
the majority). I decided to go go to an earlier one instead and it works
fine...And a little faster than the old 7.6 I was using.

Try WAV files. No converting = less processing. (Obviously a
space-hogging format, but try it nonetheless)
Don't use any graphics, artwork, nothing. Just a black screen that
doesn't auto power down...Particularly when the track is playing.
With my SD cards (even playing 24/96 files) I get no

is to play 192/24 files at that rate - whether
