I purchased the DAC from Gary Dews at Border Patrol, but I believe he
does not sell them on a regular basis. He has told me that I need to
download drivers on to my computer for it to be able to play the DAC -
he referred me to the Schiit website for drivers that will work.

The Linux OS on-board the Touch must support it ,no driver windows
style would help . There are possible alternative Linux kernels to try ?
There is info somewhere in this forum on how try experimental kernels ,
never done that myself .

I'm not sure I follow. Doesn't the Schiit Gungnir work with the SBT via
the EDO applet?

On the first page of the EDO compatibility list, apparently some one did
get it to work.
does the Dac show on the Touch when you go to SettingsAdvanced

Yes, when I choose Digital Output only setting it shows that a USB 2.0
device is available.

Yeah, I guess I'm not as old school as I was. Although I mainly listen
to vinyl rips on my SBT. :)
Oh and I do have a second one, for a back up. Hopefully I'll put it to
better use one day.
