Slow performance is probably due to the way your ripping software is

LMS couldn't be simpler so I doubt it is the source of your problems.
Install the latest release version: 7.9.1. Open LMS Control Panel and
confirm it is set to index only the folder(s) where your music library
is located. Make sure there are no shortcuts to other folders in the
target folders. D

Your problem is almost certainly network related.
Please give an example
