I'm also a rookie but what I think they are triyng to say is that if you
stop running the LMS (the inner LMS in your squeezebox touch) before
ejecting the usb hdd, the libary will be maintained and the SB will only
scan new added files in the hdd the next time you connect it back

I understand that I can remove LMS from my pc (linked to my SQ Box
Touch) but the SQ Box have is own LMS, right?
If I remove from my PC the LMS, on the SQ Box I have always the LMS
program.
Without the program the SQ BOX can't work, no?
If I let connected my USB HD, it never stop...

The squeezebox is really good, except the full scan each time I turn off
my USB hard disk
I have approx 13000 songs in FLAC and it take 10mn to scan
Is there any add on or update to avoid this full scan?
