So have I just been lucky before or can this sort of thing happen on the
LAN aswell?
I seem to recall people having the same problem on the LAN when they
clone one server to another.

Hi all,
Have this weird problem. I use a local LMS on my LAN and also have an
remote LMS that I connect to over internet. The problem is that the
touch (have 3 of 'em, same problem on all) can't decide what server to
connect to.
Problem arises as soon as I've connected to the remote server
Has one of your servers authentication enabled?

If by authentication enabled you mean if I've enabled username and
password in advanced settings the answer is; no I've not this enabled
in any of the two servers.
I've been wondering of what the 9090 port exactly does? Is that port
needed as open in my setup? I've tried to search for an answer
9090 is for the CLI over telnet and only used by a few 3rd party Apps, I
think Moose uses it, for example.

Yepp both UDP TCP are open on 3483.
re yours Also, you should not forward port 9000 to some other port.
I don't fully follow, do you mean that port 9000 should only be used by
one app (or program if you so like), ie only LMS on that port.
In that case, I would think so. Is there a way to check
How well does connecting to the remote LMS work when the local LMS is
shut down? Do you still get the menu flickering?

With port forwarding I mean that if your remote server also needs to go
through a router then it should actually use port 9000, not e.g.
Forwarding port 9000 to port 8000 or so for the remote access.
