I'm getting an odd behavior with my SBT. While playing a track the
volume will spontaneously go down for a few moments...then, just a
suddenly, go back to normal. My setup is LMS 7.7.2 on an iMac running
OSX 10.8. The Touch is connected via toslink to an Audioengine D1 DAC,

Happened to every tracks? Have you played the track on SBT to the
Audioengine speakers w/o the DAC?

Try to use the volume fixed at 100% setting and also try with or without
smart gain/repaly gain activated .
