Last night I installed an update (7.9.2), and now LMS can't see my
player (which at least I see on my network).
What kind of player are you using? How do you see it on your network?

My Muaic is empty ... and though I see the player on my router it seems
The menu is empty? Then it's connected to your LMS, but LMS doesn't find
any music. If that's not the case, then you should be a little more

Did you power-cycle the Touch?
What happens when you try to go to My Music on the player?
Can you access your LMS web UI from another machine?
