Indeed, iirc you can choose between "digital-only, 192k" and
"Digi+analogue, 96k", even with the EDO installed. You then need to
reboot the device again.

No.
Spotty can only run on a full LMS. The one on your Touch isn't

And edo disbales the analog out to make 192k and USB possible . But you
can simply remove it if you dont need any of its features .
There are other mods that potentially can disable the screen , but all
this should go waya with the factory reset anyway afaik ?

Correct, For 192 khz support from the Squeezebox touch you need the EDO
plugin installed and it's digital output only.
