All 3 of the remote controls for my 3 Touch devices are getting sticky
and look wet! I first though perhaps the batteries were leaking but
that is not the case. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's almost
like the plastic material is oozing.29043
When my remote became unpleasantly sticky I opened up the unit and
treated the top part with silicone remover (the stuff you use in
bathrooms etc). Paint it on and leave overnight. It took a few
applications, but exposed the shiny plastic surface underneath and did
not remove the lettering.

I finished up with Tesco's own brand "Everyday Value" cream cleaner, and

My Touch no longer responds to using the alpha letters for jumping to a
new position in menu's. If I'm in artists for example and want to hit j
to jump to the j artists, nothing happens. This function works with the
Touch remote on my SB3 and Boom, as do my older remotes, so it seems

For some reason, my Pronto NG refused to learn the IR codes from the SB
Touch handset. By going through the info in this thread, and doing a
bit of hex / binary conversion, I think I've figured out the full list
of clean pronto IR codes for the SB touch:

of the codes into ProntoEdit and they work. (Well, most of them: the
code for '1' is actually '0', the one for '2' is '1', the one for '3'
is '2'. I had the Pronto learn the code for '3' and now I have a full
set.)

Rather than rearranging everything in my Pronto, I tried the make the
SB Touch understand the JVC codes by editing irMap_default like you
suggested. I can confirm that it does not work.

Finally had a little time to actually use my nice shiny new Touch last
night. I noticed a couple of changes in behavious that I have not seen
mentioned;
On the SB3 when in Artists the remote 1 button goes to my Various
Artists (auto created from compilations) folder which by its existence
is at
Yeah..I noticed similar with my Touch too Peter.
Was a handy feature on the SB3 for sure.

I looked at the .ccf-file on remotecentral (the one from February 2004),
deduced the hex format from that and tried it with the discrete codes
listed in this thread. They seem to work fine on the Touch with my URC
