pinned apps because the two solutions that been tried so far have been
bad.

FYI, a part of my work is already included in Linux 3.16 or later. In
this bug, the reporter uses my breeding-edge in github.com, thus you may
have an idea that this is due to out-of-tree kernel modules. But you can
actually see the same issue on Ubuntu utopic.
I can add that flipping ipv5 setting to ignore and then back to
automatic makes auto connection work again. I do think that it is
needed for every reboot though. But it's a workaround.
