Xubuntu here, wireless has been working fine over multi distros and years on
this machine, just ran the 15.04 upgrade last night.
Now I have exactly the same problem: initially connects but drops almost
immediately and can't reconnect, completely unusable.

This fixed the problem for me too, as wifi is stable using wicd it definitely
seems to be a NetworkManager problem.

I simply added 0.27.4 repository from mythbuntu-control-center.
ubuntu-software-updated crashed quickly.

Every app which has no icon in the app scope has no icon in the launcher when
launched. In this picture it was the Telegram app, but every other one has the
same behaviour.

When I first suspended my laptop after upgrading it to ubuntu 15.04 I

I suspect it has to do with mounting a data partition. Mounting three NTSF data
partitions on my harddisk (DOCS, DATA, TADA) never gave any problems, but when
I added a EXT4 partition on my boot SDD (WORK), it gave me warnings during boot
up, though it booted up fine. Seems like
I upgraded from Kubuntu 14.10 to 15.04 release and was greeted with this
problem. I don't think also that Invalid flag is correct here. A real
problem. Black screen on boot after update is not nice. Fortunately I
found this - selecting upstart boot I was able to get the system
working.

I actually found that if I selected UEFI boot instead of legacy boot I
could run the live-usb stick.
I was unable to reproduce the problem when running from the live-usb
when trying out vivid. However it turns out that I cannot reproduce the
issue when running from a live-usb loaded with trusty

For those still facing this issue, here is the workaround that I'm using.
It's based on my previous comment:
I've added the command /usr/bin/unity-scope-loader
applications/applications.scope applications/scopes.scope commands.scope to
the auto-start programs, with a delay (30 seconds in my
