binary input event protocol (which is separate to protobuf). It's
sufficiently broken that any Mir-0.15 or earlier client will reject and
ignore all input messages it gets from v0.16 or newer servers.
Annoyingly comment #9 may not work. If app developers rebuild with the
latest Mir (0.17) then the slightly older Mir 0.16.0 in OTA7 will also
reject their connections because they're now too new! This is again due
to the overly strict protocol range checking introduced in r2893.

Yes, I think so. I'm still working on the underlying cancellation issue.
It turns out that a bug in our code meant that a cancel() sent to the
thumbnail actually didn't cancel. That's benign because, if a request
isn't cancelled, it completes normally and the result is ignored when
the request

Drop
After 45 minutes and trying several different suggested solutions,
scripts and adding genmon leading to repeated black screen episodes I
found a very simple solution. Turn off hardware acceleration in chrome.
Thought I would come back and post a update so maybe someone else might
try that first

Which bug are you looking for? You're using a backport or ppa
or custom built lxc and are looking for a kernel fix?

sudo journalctl -u lxc-net
if that doesn't seem to show anything, then maybe do
sudo systemctl start lxc-net
sudo journalctl -u lxc-net
