Update: Today if I try GBM_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 on my desktop Mir gets:
60 FPS in the egltriangle client
30 FPS in the compositor (17ms/frame)
or:
60 FPS in the flicker client
60 FPS in the compositor (3.3ms/frame)
So indeed it appears we have a major bottleneck in LLVMpipe interpreting
EGL
I modified the file '/usr/share/pyshared/lsb_release.py'.
And, It works well.

For me none of these fixes worked.
In my case alsa switched the speaker volume with the headphone volume.

to ensure my ethernet port, ens18, is available, on boot.

In my case, I am using dnsmasq as per the PiHole installation where the IP is

2º Enter unity8-deb
3º Check the default scope
Expected result: some scopes should be marked by default as favorite,
unity-scope-mediascanner2 wasn't installed along with
16.10 Fresh install, Kernel 4.8.0-39.

After upgrading from 14.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS, we noticed that LDAP-based
sudo roles stopped working, meaning users that were able to use sudo in
the past, are rejected now.
After investigation, it turned out to be a known upstream bug:
