What's the edgers/package-based workaround? I tried the following (on Linux Mint 17): sudo apt-add-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade ...and I got some new packages, but also saw that some were held back: The following packages have been kept back:
