I have a worse bug : after setting alsamixer to 6ch and restarting pulseaudio,
I have no rear sound and no dialog in 5.1 application (I select a 5.1 profile
in pulseaudio
+ the sound section in Ubuntu setting pannel is unable to test the speakers
(they remain silent while the system sound can
Maybe you would like to set concerned package to "synaptic"...

4. select a new driver (example
CMI8738 is not well-supported by alsa.
Running with a center channel volume issue (center volume constant,
whatever the master volume).
I found out that master volume worked only for front/rear channel, not
center which stick to its initial value.
Pulseaudio volume for separate channel are not
Started to show up with 19.04 for me.

@pitti I don't understand. @eheydrick said update-rc.d suscceed but
systemd still rturning an error. So why update-rc.d or manual symlink
would change anything ?
This still an issue. Systemd states it is compatible with init.d script.
So it should work.
