Since I am running dhclient -d eth0 I have not been disconnected. I do
not intend to run dhclient this way, it is a part of the minimal system
and should work in the background with no intervention. Who is actively
working on this bug from Cannonical?

I too have struggled with this on my server, leaving us without internet
until sudo dhclient eth0 or the interace is taken down and brought back
up.

After installing Xenial server last week I had problems from the get go
with isc-dhcp-server and client. As it is my gateway I have had a great
deal of trouble. Your suggestions in comment 37 seem to address them, am
waiting to see if my next ISP dhcp renewal leaves me disconnected again.
Effected
Still seeing this bug in 4.3.3-5ubuntu7 and 4.3.3-5ubuntu8. Has it been
re-introduced?

Title:
Downgraded to 4.3.3-5ubuntu7 and the same behaviour occurs. Do not seem
to see anything in logs, I take down interface and bring it up to get a
new ip. network cards are intel 82541GI on a dell poweredge 2850.
