Richard, you should be okay. I have had very similar problems when I upgraded my virtual systems from wily (1510) to xenial (1604) when they there still were in development mode. I recovered the upgrade by apt-get -f install, apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade (issued a few times). -- You
