I'm also experiencing this exact issue. While it doesn't happen all the time, it's sufficiently frequent and unpleasant that I just can't listen to music through the audio jack. It's still an issue using the 4.9 mainline kernel. Using a USB sound card makes the problems go away. -- You received

I had this problem but with a different program. In my case it was the 'zenity' program failing to load after an upgrade resulting in the system failing to boot. The workaround suggested in https://bugs.launchpad.net/timeshift/+bug/1516255 worked for me. The problem seems to be a manual
