i changed the email client in system settings, but it was in 13.04. Now,
maybe it is working, i'm no longer using ubuntu, i'll try install ubuntu
14.10 in a virtual machine, and reproduce using the same steps...

I use the System Settings to change my default email client and it works
fine, even using the command-line MUA 'mutt'.
How were you configuring your default email client?
