Just happened again. Ran apport-collect. In the middle of running gpg
--gen-key in a terminal window and going random things, including typing
sentences into the terminal.

buggy and outdated BIOS is available (2.11). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change
I'm a software developer doing dev on my laptop. I'm pretty techie and
handle some decently complicated instructions. let me know if more info

random lockups where the mouse still works. fiddling with tty1 has mixed
results -- killall on compiz to avoid a hard reboot would work for a
bit, but after a couple of hits of that, things just went weird in the
Daniel Manley, given that this information was collected when you first
reported this, you wouldn't have to run apport-collect any further.
