This is also an issue on the Meizu Pro 5. I can sync to my Nextcloud
tasks; however they do not show up on my Ubuntu-touch task list

Owncloud synchronization with calendar, contatcs : well funtionning.
Task is malfunctional ( no complete synchronization), but the external data
(into UT) is in ics file (.local/share/evolution/tasks/system/tasks.ics).
How update or copy (convert) the ics in your sqlite database. Here
I get the impression that the reason for this "lack of synchronization"
is that Ubuntu's "Tasks" app does not actually use the system-task-list
but rather its own list somewhere else.
Indeed, after synchronization, running syncevolution --print-items
backend=evolution-tasks on the phone does show
Do you use Thunderbird + Lightning ? Could you try to create a note /
memo / task from it and tell me which database is set?
