Public bug reported: When calling:
sudo service pulseaudio stop I've got the following answer: stop: Unknown instance: Also pulseaudio is running with the connected user: /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start --log-target=syslog One way to stop it is to use: /usr/bin/pulseaudio --kill Or: /usr/bin/pasuspender I wish I could do something like: sudo service pulseaudio suspend The rationale behind this is to be able to use ALSA apps without having pulseaudio taking control of the sound card in between.
