Public bug reported: I've upgraded from Vivid to Wily. The first thing I noticed was that (on the default Unity desktop) the System Settings -> Mouse & Touchpad -> Tap to click setting got disabled.
Instead of immediately realizing what the actual issue was, I was afraid for some time that my whole desktop broke: I couldn't launch apps by clicking on their icons in the Launcher. My left button below the touchpad is quite broken, it's very hard to make it actually click. So tap on click is crucial for me, and re- enabling it wasn't easy. At least two other people have also seen this behavior; see the first two comments at http://hup.hu/cikkek/20150926/ubuntu_15_10_final_beta (in Hungarian). Could you please make sure that upgrading from a previous release to final Wily keeps this setting? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: wily ** Package changed: modemmanager (Ubuntu) => ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to modemmanager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500272 Title: "Tap to click" disabled on Wily upgrade Status in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I've upgraded from Vivid to Wily.
