This problem has been RESOLVED. After much hassle, machine was returned to Lenovo for service. They could not find any hardware test that indicated any failures, but after I raised a ruckus they replaced the "system board" and now the problem is gone. I am curious. I wish I knew what really

I got the bios upgraded, but the problem has not gone away. I hope someone would look into this problem. The machine is usable, but I cannot access any display output except default, as described in the the original bug report. I can demonstrate that the hardware is correctly working by
