The bug is gone on 20.04 daily (2020-02-23). Screen orientation is now
correct on my Elitebook 840 G1.

it's a fresh install with all patches suggested
removing iio-sensor-proxy change nothing
i have to use a xrandr command to give the correct orientation
xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal

solution is to run this command (in terminal) after the machine boots:

The issue was there in 19.04. However, I was able to flip the laptop
upside down and then click the rotation button. This fixed the issue and
displayed the screen in proper orientation.
However, just upgraded to 19.10 and the issue is back. However, the
screen does not rotate when the laptop is
