I am experiencing a boot problem on my RaspberryPi 3 B+ which has a 64

Ok, so lvm2 was not broken, but initramfs was!

/tmp/mountroot-fail-hooks.d/"$1"
It seems to me that /tmp/mountroot-fail-hooks.d/ never worked correctly.
Thus i wonder if it should be dropped altogether.
