Brian,
This weekend we had updates for libssl and a libssl regression. Both required a
reboot and no second reboot. In other words worked as expected.
Perhaps the bug only occurs for kernel updates. I have had this happen a few
times in the past. So the next time it happens I will not run
Thanks, I gave it a shot (after putting the profile into complain mode)

Sure Brian, here it is.
I think my case was exactly the same, as I also did a 'apt-get
autoremove'.
But, the strange think is that the reboot file vanished and the system
is no longer asking me for reboots (probably since yesterday), but I
didn't do anything specific to try to solve the problem.
evendough people talk about not adding more comments to this thread.
i had the problem, then they/you/here they said solution is upgrade to

- i solved the problem manually und than upgraded to 16.04
- now some months later i wanted to update && upgrade my server and boot

@Alexandre - Could you add your /var/log/apt/history.log entries from

In Barry's case I believe the reboot-required was created because of

** Description changed:
in cloud-init users can install packages via cloud-config:
#cloud-config
packages: [apache2]
Due to some intricacies of systemd and service installation that doesn't work
all that well.
We fixed the issue for simple services that do not have any dependencies
I had same issue, when I removed ubuntu gnome desktop using tasksel. I
solved this by moving these files to a backup location
sudo mv /etc/libnl-3/classid /etc/libnl-3/classid.bak
sudo mv /etc/libnl-3/pktloc /etc/libnl-3/pktloc.bak
then
sudo apt-get -f install
and then restored these files
sudo
Thanks for the update. Nice this is probably finally implemented.

Since upgraded to 16.10 Yakkety, modifications in
/etc/security/limits.conf are not taken into consideration when logging
in the graphical interface.
/etc/security/limits.conf:
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - memlockunlimited
I tried the same settings in
i also can confirm that the sequence -> toggle in system settings and
then the toggle in the status menu - works for me too on mx4 arale

Hi - are there any AppArmor denials in the syslog? To check, you can
trigger this bug and then look in /var/log/syslog for lines that contain
'apparmor="DENIED"'. Thanks!

For snappy (at first at least) we need to provide netplan in xenial, as
for the first snappy GA release we must not use any PPAs any more.
netplan's NetworkManager backend depends on two patches to read
configuration and connections from /run/NetworkManager/.
(The security team will look soon)

I think this is an issue with the lightdm(-guest-session) apparmor
profiles.
In dmesg:
laney@yakkety-vm:~$ dmesg | grep DENIED
