Is GTK really responsible for setting up the session settings? It's the
default hinting setting that's wrong and that might simply be because
there is no gnome-settings-daemon to read the Ubuntu default settings
for hinting.

I can't reproduce this on my system - I think this might be a configuration
issue or a special case by having failed to initialize ntp on install.
If you do not need ntp anyway just remove it, otherwise would you mind
giving the suggestions mentioned in [1] a try (adapted to ntp of
course).

I am seeing the same issue on Ubuntu Xenial with proftpd.
I am hosting 2 fairly busy proftpd servers that handle up to 10
login/secs. My /var/log/btmp are at size 0 but the /var/log/wtmp file
are up to 83M, maybe more because I restarted the servers before finding
this ticket to take a look at
I *think* this is gtk-mir.
Running gnome-terminal on Unity7 selecting "Preferences" a second time
raises the Preferences window.
But in miral-shell I see no handle_raise_window() in --window-
management-trace. Which implies that mir_window_raise() isn't being
called by the toolkit.

Worth mentioning Flickable's mouse wheel support is also pretty poor. If
you move the wheel too quickly the Flickable may ignore the movement
completely. If you move the wheel slowly that can make the scrolling go
much faster.

Several issues here: but the main one seems to be the GTK issue
described in lp:1625397.
That a "modal" dialog isn't modal because the gdk-mir is ignoring gdks
modal hint when creating it.

When I try to connect to a wifi using a USB wifi adapter, the system
crashes/freezes immediately. There is nothing in the syslog or anywhere
else. This can be reproduced on Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04. Enabling the
adapter works, but the freeze occurs as soon as I try to log into
Agreed, this is the same underlying issue with "focus-loss" events that
manifests in lp:1625846. We should ensure that any plan to resolve
addresses both usecases.

the gtk wayland backend reads the value directly from gsettings, the mir
