8 secs.
That's still pretty slow, considering my system didn't take too long too
boot up in other releases of Ubuntu (~15 secs before, it's now 25 secs).

upstream thing, and I have filed an upstream bug report with a patch and
explained it there.
Possibly this motivates a new upstream release rather than distro
patches in Debian/Ubuntu.

$ setupcon --current-tty
It changes the font, after which Cyrillic symbols become displaying normally.
But it should display them normally with initial font too. Also this changes
saves only till next reboot.

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic daily with proposed updates enabled. I
am using gnome-flashback (gnome-panel) with Compiz. I first recognised
that Compiz is giving very high CPU loads according to top. At the same
time, intel_gpu_top shows GPU usage
The file corruption is fixed. Now just back to missing the md5sums.

I think you didn't get the framebuffer working. Please, reboot and show
