Okay, well after entirely too much excitement, I made some progress.
After much googling, I found that this error message refers to a problem
with GNOME so one can get around it by going into console mode,

I tried to follow the instructions in #8. My computer is now bricked
with the message after login password of "Oh No! Something has gone
wrong. A problem has occurred and the system can't recover.
I can confirm this bug still exists on 20.04 after testing my desktop
and laptop.
Using hciconfig to turn off visibility works and does survive a reboot.
After using hciconfig and opening the Bluetooth settings panel,
visibility turns on. When closing the panel, visibility turns off. So
Kai, Anthony, François, is anyone wanting to get that uploaded? If so I
can help with the that part, note that there is already a SRU in the
focal queue so it would need merging if we want to include this change
in the next upload

Last day of testing with hdmi sound card disabled. No problems thus far.

systemctl / networkctl all clean.
kernel is not booted with console parameters (also with console parameters
doesnt work)
I tried like everything, even replacing this stupid ..
